Title: Construction and testing of a novel original apparatus for testing biologically active substances release from some drugs and foodstuffs

Abstract:

The main goal of this dissertation was building of a new apparatus using a syringe pump, meant for dissolution testing in a flow through manner, applicable to both drugs and food/dietary special. Furthermore a novel application of voltammetric method was used for determination of analytes in dissolution media, a method that is rarely used in dissolution testing at all.Due to constructing a novel apparatus three basic parts were designed, a simple syringe pump a low-volume dissolution chamber allowing flow in both direction and a stepper motor driver. The syringe pump was designed as six route one. As the drive source stepper motor with was used. The stepper motor was driven with a microstep driver connected to a PC by a LPT port. The software used for controlling the pump was Linux CNC.The verification of apparatus was done using prednisolone and izoniazide dissolution a variety of herbs, dietary special and foods was also examined. Apart from herbs, dietary special were also used: capsules Swanson full spectrum Bacopa moniera 500 mg, 90 caps. and Spirulina powder bio Spirulina obtained from powdered algae. Foodstuffs were also used – boletus badius mycelcial cultures were also applied with addition of toxic elements, cadmium and lead.
