Praca doktorska
The present doctoral thesis consists of 4 original articles, describing pleiotropic effects of hipolipemic drugs - statins and/or omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFA) in coronary artery disease.Data gathered in this thesis suggest following favourable effects: 1. Chronic statin therapy decrease thrombin generation and platelet activation in acute ST-segment elevated myocardial infarction. 2. n-3 PUFA have favourable impact on endocrine activity of adipose tissue and serum adipokines profile (adiponectin, leptin and resistin) in patients with stable coronary artery disease, who underwent successful percutaneous intervention (PCI) with stent implantation. 3. n-3 PUFA reduce mass and activity of lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) in patients with stable angina after successful coronary angioplasty with stent implantation. 4. PCI with stent implantation triggers prolonged systemic inflammatory response following, most probably, endothelium injury in one-month observation in patients with stable angina and optimal medical treatment, including chronic statintherapy. Elevated CRP level was associated with increased thrombin generation (reflected by maximum concentration of thrombin) and low platelets’ response to clopidogrel (reflected by P2Y12-reactivity index).
