Aims of the study: to identify general correlations between anxiety and sexual dysfunction symptoms and specific relations between particular types of the symptoms. They were further extended into two areas: the reliability assessment of hypothetical models of mutual correlations between anxiety and selected sexual dysfunctions together with the diversity assessment of the study group and the dynamics of changes occurring within it.Results and conclusions: The study demonstrated that sexual dysfunction symptoms pose a significant clinical difficulty in the course of neurotic disorders. The key role in the relations between anxiety and a sexual dysfunction seems to be played by the desire disorder which is secondarily related to the occurrence of other sexual dysfunctions. The change in their severity as a result of psychotherapy is associated with the severity alteration of anxiety disorders. Not all types of sexual dysfunction symptoms subside to the same extent concurrently as the anxiety severity diminishes. The application of an individual approach seems of key significance when treating sexual dysfunctions, in particular, erection disorders in men and orgasm disorders in both sexes. That includes the incorporation in the therapy plan of methods with a specific focus on the therapy of a particular type of symptoms.
