Title: Cellulit primary and secondary prevention

Abstract:

Cellulite, (Ganoid Lipodystrophy, GLD), often confused with Cellulitis, presently is one of the most common skin defects. The ailment is dependent on numerous factors, that is why treatment of GLD means treatment of the whole body. Up to the present day no effective method of cellulite complete and permanent reduction has been developed, that is why this thesis attempts to establish whether radio waves can be an effective method of elimination or reduction of cellulite. At the first stage of the research a questionnaire survey was conducted among 340 women, aged 16 to 68. The women most often diagnosed themselves with 1st and 2nd degree of GLD, mostly on thighs, buttocks and belly.30 women, who volunteered to undergo a therapy with the application of radio waves, were covered with the second stage of the research. After conducting all examinations it was concluded that knowledge on Cellulite among the surveyed is minimal and not sufficient for its effective prevention, which leads to the conclusion that the necessity of increasing awareness of widely understood GLD initial prevention mechanisms is vital.Therapy with the application of radio waves as secondary prevention improves the skin elasticity and its looks, however, it is not an efficient method of reducing more advanced changes caused by the cellulite development, while the applied frequencies do not bring about any side e ; ffects. Tangible results of the radio waves application is inversely proportional to the degree of skin changes advancement.
