The anxiety of dental treatment is one of the biggest problems in the health of the mouth cavity worldwide. The problem of anxiety before and during dental treatment has long been the subject of interdisciplinary research. The main reason behind focusing on this area of study was the intention to verify the effectiveness of a specially designed music programme to be implemented before and during dental extraction on the basis of periodontal and orthodontic conditions on patients with middle and high levels of anticipatory anxiety. The music therapy programme used before the treatment has a positive influence on patients with anticipatory anxiety, as it makes it easier to properly prepare patients for the local anaesthetic and tooth extraction, whereas the music therapy programme prepared for the actual procedure is a highly effective therapeutic method, complementary to traditional clinical procedures in interdisciplinary dentistry.
