Tytuł: Nutrition during pregnancy in women with different pre-pregnancy BMI

Abstrakt:

The pre-pregnancy nutritional status of women and their nutrition during pregnancy are considered as the most important factors of proper course of pregnancy. The aim of examinations was to present the nutrition of pregnant women in particular trimesters of pregnancy with differences in their diet in the aspect of: -nutritional status before pregnancy (nutritional status was estimated by BMI value) - total body weight increase during pregnancy (too little, optimal, too big). The examinations including the period of 15 months were performed in 72 pregnant women. The nutritional status was estimated by measurement of body mass, the height, arm circumference and skinfolds thickness. The nutrition was estimated by food frequency questionnaire and 24-hour dietary recall. The pre-pregnancy nutritional status was not the factor of significant differences in average consumption of proteins, carbohydrates, saturated fatty acids and cholesterol in the whole course of pregnancy. In the course of pregnancy statistically important increase in caloric value of the diet in overweight women (with accompanying increase of fat tissue) and in obese women (with accompanying decrease of fat tissue) were stated. In women with underweight and with correct nutritional status statistically important changes in caloric value of the diet were not present; in spite of this the value of all analyzed anthro ; pometric indexes increased in these groups significantly. So the increase of caloric value of the diet was not an obtain factor for the increased deposition of fat tissue in pregnant women, and the increase in consumption of simple sugars should be considered as a nutritional factor leading to deposition of fat mass.
