Tytuł: The impact of blue light filter of artificial foldable intraocular lens on color vision at pseudophakic patients

Abstrakt:

Reports appeared in world literature about quality of vision especially color vision of patient after implantation artificial intraocular foldable lens with blue light filter. So far research carrying on relatively small groups, however, did not bring one-valued results. The aim of my research was deciding: 1) Did color vision of patients with artificial lens without blue light filter differ from vision at patients with own lens? 2) What was the difference in color vision at pseudophakic patients with blue light filtering artificial lens to them with implant without blue light filter? 3) Was color vision at patients with artificial implant with blue light filter approximated to color vision in phakic eye? 159 patients (180 eyes) divided on three groups was examined. 60 patients (60 eyes) after cataract surgery with implantation of blue light filtering lens were the first group. 59 patients (60 eyes) who had implanted lens without filter were second group. 40 patients (60 eyes) with own transparent lens were third group. All patients were taken cataract surgery in the Ophtalmic Ward of the Fifth Clinical Military Hospital in Cracow. Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue test was used in research. Each patient made test once on thirtieth day after cataract surgery. It was also a day of the end of pharmacological therapy. Man put forward following conclusion: 1) Color perception at patients ; with artificial lens without blue light filter is worse then at patients with own lens; 2) Lack of blue light filter in artificial intraocular lens effects color vision especially in blue-yellow range: 3) Patients with blue light filtering artificial lens perceive paints as goog as patients with own transparent lens; 4) Color vision at patients with blue light filtering implants is better then at patients with artificial lens without filter; 5) Blue light filter of artificial intraocular foldable lens advantageously effects perception of paints; 6) Kind of artificial intraocular lens has meaning in colorful vision at pseudophakic patients; 7) Women perceive tints better than men; 8) Hue perception goes down along with age of patient.
