Abstract:

The aim of this research was to appraise the relationships between oral health related quality of life (OHRQoL) and periodontal diseases, oral mucosal diseases and caries among adult patients. In the study the author used an instrument, which was previously adapted and validated to assess OHRQoL in the investigated group of patients - modified Oral Health Impact Profile-14 questionnaire in polish language version (mOHIP-14-pl). The research allowed to accomplish the objectives set in the assumptions of the work. The first part of the study analyzes the OHRQoL of the patients according to the reason of visiting the UDC. The second part of the research examines the influence of periodontal diseases, oral mucosal diseases and caries on overall quality of life (QoL) and OHRQoL. This study compares also OHRQoL self-assessed by a simple question and by the mOHIP-14-pl questionnaire. The third part of the research analyzes in detailed way OHRQoL assessed by mOHIP-14 questionnaire among patients with periodontal diseases, oral mucosal diseases and caries.
