quality of care ; satisfaction with care ; childbirth experience

Abstract:

Properly led care that meets the needs of the patients is a measure of the functioning of the unit, as well as professional work of the medical team and high-quality care. Within the changing standards of approach to the patient, from the biomedical model to the holistic and womencentered model, monitoring the quality of care from the patient's perspective in medical facilities seems reasonable and necessary. Based on a literature review, it can be concluded that the problem faced by polish researchers on the quality of perinatal care is the lack of standardized research tools. Although there are many different questionnaires exploring the issue of quality and/or satisfaction of women with perinatal care, most of them are in English and have been constructed in other countries. Thus, when studying the quality of care in midwifery or obstetrics, researchers start by creating their own stool, which, as an ad hoc tool, can be not adequately validated. This adversely affects the research conducted, and consequently the methodological standards in the discipline. The premise of the study is to fill this gap by adapting an existing questionnaire assessing the quality of perinatal care.
