Praca doktorska
In the cycle of 3 papers assessments of selected clinical, biochemical and genetic parameters were performed in children before and after hematopoietic cell transplantation, with a focus on their possible use as biomarkers of late effects of treatment. The parameters included blood pressure (office measurements and ABPM), expressions of genes related to hypertension (microarrays), levels of insulin-like growth factors, their binding proteins and their genes. Significant differences in expressions of certain genes related to hypertension before and after the procedure were found. No significant differences in blood pressure values, concentrations of insulin-like growth factors, insulin-like growth factor binding proteins and their genes were seen. The results of short-term analysis of these parameters after hematopoietic cell transplantation suggest a potential for using assessments of expressions of genes related to hypertension as biomarkers of late effects of this treatment method.
