Psychodermatology is a new field of medicine. It studies interactions between mind and skin. The aim of the study was to describe psychological factors of patients with psoriasis, rosacea and lupus discoides erythematosus. The study showed that the patients with skin diseases differ from control group, as well as among themselves. Dermatological patients more often use the style of coping with stress directed on avoiding in comparison with the conrol group. Patients in dermatological groups tent to get involved in supplementary activities. On the border of statistical relevance patients with skin disorders characterize of highter level of neuroticism and anxiety as trait. Comparing medium values among different groups it has been observed that patients with psoriasis most frequently use the style of coping with stress concentrated on avoiding, as well as most frequently get involved in supplementary activities. On the border of statistical relevance the difference of self – eveluation were revealed. These differences were detected between control group and patients with DLE. The worst self – evaluation have patients with DLE. The hightest level of self - evaluation have patients with rosacea, the lowest patients with DLE. The quality of life is most handiccaped in patients with psoriasis.
