Abstract:

Aim of study was to assess prevalence of coronary microcirculatory dysfunction (CMD) in patients with chronic coronary syndromes, in whom coronary angiography revealed borderline artery stenosis. Fractional flow reserve along with resting indices were measured. Thermodilution based diagnostics of coronary microcirculation was performed afterwards. In 101 patients (157 vessels) with men age of 66 years old CMD was present in 45% of cases, regardless of vessel stenosis grade. In patients without significant coronary stenosis CMD was diagnosed in 55% of cases and in group with at least one significant stenosis there were 34% of patients diagnosed with CMD. Coexistence of CMD and diastolic dysfunction in echocardiography occurred in 25% of patients. Discrepancy between FFR and resting indices was observed in 28% of measurements. In this discrepant group higher prevalence of CMD was observed compared to concordant group.
