The study was conducted in the school year 2014/2015 among high school students from two regions: Malopolska (N=241) and the Carpathian (N=277). 514 people from the 253 boys (48.8%) and 265 girls (51.2%) aged 16 to 20 participated in the study. Each person included in the study filled in an anonymous questionnaire on frequency of consumption of selected products including energy drinks (FFQ Questionnaire ). Anthropometric measurements (measurement of weight, height, body composition and measurements of waist and hips) among the respondents were also performed. In assessing the level of statistical significance a=0.05 was adopted. Statistical calculations were performed in STATISTICA PL 10.0. Place of residence and gender affect the consumption of energy drinks. Both the frequency of consumption and the amount of consumed energy drinks affect the selected anthropometric characteristics of the study population: body weight, waist circumference, BMI, WHR and WHtR. Youth differed significantly in the frequency of consumption of energy drin ; ks during some activities. Consumption of energy drinks in the population of Malopolska is associated with the consumption of drugs such as cigarette smoking and the frequency of physical training is related to the amount of consumtion of energy drinks in this group.
