The aim of this work is optimising detection of early ischemic stroke in computed tomography. This work is based on research conducted on a group of 65 patients with neurological symptoms suggestive of ischemia in the area of MCA vasculature conducted within 12 hours of the onset of first symptoms of the disorder. Noncontrast CT and perfusion CT were performed on these patients during emergency duty. The ASPECTS scale is a auxiliary tool in detecting early ischemic changes in noncontrast cerebral CT. Perfusion CT allows for imaging of the ischemic area. It has been found that the assessment of the changed areas (including penumbra and core) with the use of the ASPECTS scale review study has a very high specificity of 99.48%, 99,48%, 100% but its sensitivity is low and equals 42.92%, 27%,55%. The results obtained from transformation of image data by two different programs, but analysed by one program developed for researching the penumbra and core areas, reveal strong correlation. Data obtained from the transformation of image data by the same program, but analysed by two different programs researching the penumbra and core areas reveal poor correlation.
