Surgical treatment of vaginal absence in girls is important for normal sexual and mental life. Clinically the need of vaginal reconstruction mostly takes place in the Meyer - Rokitańskiego - Kuster - Hauser syndrome. These techniques are divided into conservative and operative. The aim of this study was to evaluate the results of laparoscopic reconstruction based on our own experience and literature and compare it to other techniques. For surgical treatment were enrolled 24 girls aged 17 - 20 years. All patients were operated laparoscopically. Mean length of stay was 14 days. Long-term results evaluated in clinical outpatient and on the basis of the survey. The survey found that 18 patients have concluded a wedding and two are in stable partnerships and have taken intercourse. 4 patients have not taken intercourse.Conclusions.1. The advantage of the method using fragments of intestine to reconstruct neovagina is a short time to achieve the possibility of taking sexual intercourse.2. Moulding beyond the perioperative period is unnecessary.3. Neovagina formed from isolated segment of the sigmoid colon has a natural lubrication.4. The walls of the neovagina created using the segment of the sigmoid colon are not subject to pressure sores or ulcers or narrowing as it’s possible in cases of using flaps of skin.5. Operations using large intestine, despite the size and duration are hav ; e fewer late complications compared to other reconstruction methods of the vagina.6. The results indicate the durable good cosmetic and functional effect.
