Abstract:
The main aim of this research is to conduct comparative study about dynamism of teeth eruption among children, who are living in the area with progressive (since 1988) decrease in fluorine contamination in the air in relation to the children, who were living in the same area during the period of fluorine contamination in the 70ties of the 20th century. Three groups of children constitute the research material. Group I – “research one” consists of 1190 children from 7- to 14- year old ones, the pupils of two elementary and one junior high school in Skawina City. The choice of schools, number and age of the children is associated with the research from the 70-ties (the data are included in Folia Medica Cracoviensia 1975). The results of this research make up the control group (II). The III group – a present-day control one – consists of 511 subjects (283 girls and 228 boys) the patients of Consultative Clinic of Orthodontics in Cracow. Each group is divided into subgroups aging from 7- to 14- year olds, numbered from A to H. The material was statistically analyzed.Conclusions: 1. Dynamism of permanent teeth eruption in the group of the children living in the area which was previously contaminated with fluoride is greater than among the children living there 30 years ago in the period of pollution. 2. There is some impact of the environment on the dynamics of permanent teeth erupt ; ion, but it is not possible to assess this phenomenon in isolation with other factors. 3. From time to time it is necessary to verify the terms and sequences of teeth emergence for specific population living in diversified environments.
