The result of wound healing is scarformation. In order to determine regulators of process of scarformation, treatment with use of dermal regeneration template Integra® was investigated. The study hypothesis is: dermal regeneration template Integra® reduces inflammatory response in early stages of wound healing. To test the hypothesis, experimental and clinical projects were performed. In the experimental study, plasma levels of IL-4; IL-6; IL-10; TNF-α; FGF-2; GM-CSF; PDGF-BB; TGF-β1; TGF-β2 and TGF-β3 were measured in mice treated with Integra® in compare to controls. In the clinical project, plasma levels of EGF, TGF-β1, FGF-2, VEGF, IFN-α, GM-CSF, IL-4, IL-8, MMP-2, MMP-9 and hsCRP were measured in 15 pediatric patients treated with Integra® for reconstructive procedures in 4 time points. Results were compared with treatment progress and outcome.
