Prosthetic restoration based on full-ceramic crown inlays is a recognised method of reconstructing the cavities of damaged hard tissues of the tooth. The technologies of insert making have undergone tremendous modifications in recent years. CAD/CAM technology has been increasingly applied in dentistry. The objective of present study has been to compare the implementation precision of full ceramic crown inlay made on the basis of CAD/CAM methods, and indirect method with application of CEREC 2 appliance. Research has been carried out in vivo and in vitro. In the former case, Roulet and Van Dijken index was used for clinical evaluation of 104 inlays. In the case of in vitro research, two II class cavities according to Black were processed in every one of thirty teeth. The cavities were restored with inlays relying on two different methods (indirect method and CAD/CAM) using CEREC 2 appliance. The obtained cross-sections were studied in Karr Dental optical microscope and in Jeol-JSM-35CF scanning electron microscope. The obtained microscope pictures were introduced to computer memory. Digora 2,1 program was used to measure the thickness of cementing layer. The obtained results were analysed statistically. Statistically significant differences were found between particular methods. Better marginal adaptation and higher precision of inlay development was obtained in CAD/CAM method.
