The research aimed at comparative analysis of the clinical usefulness of the plantoconturographic and pedobarographic methods in flat foot diagnosis in the conditions of twofooted and one-footed standing. The examination was carried out using pedobarographic platform PEL 38. The advantage of this system of equipment is a possibility to measure stress on the soles of feet and, at the same time a possibility to use the prints and contours of the area of foot soles necessary for the plantoconturographic analysis. In the plantoconturographic method, the assessment of the longitudinal arch of the foot was conducted using Clarke’s index whereas the transverse arch of the foot was assessed using Wejsflog’s index. The pedobarographic method consists on an analysis of the distribution of stresses on the area of foot soles. Analysis of correlations occurring between the results of the plantoconturographic and pedobarographic examinations allowed for stating that there is a statistically significant relation between these two methods in their assessment of the longitudinal arch of the foot. Analysis of correlations occurring between the results of the plantoconturographic and pedobarographic examinations did not reveal any statistically significant relation between these two methods in their assessment of the transverse arch.
