The objective of this work was to define changes in life style patients after by-pass surgery and it's influence patient's health condition. The studies were participated by 200 patients one year after cardiac surgery. The investigation convered the period from April 2003 to May 2004 in John Paul II Hospital in Cracow. The studies included an index of the life style, Value Survay (M. Rokeach), Beck Depressin Inventory, Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (Endler and Parker), questionaire to estimation locus of control (questionaire DELTA) and PS-T index (to estimation life situation). The accepted significance level was a=0,05. The result were analysed using Statistica v. 5.0 programm. The results showed that after cardiac surgery patients changes their behaviours. Almost every patient stop smoking and drinking alkohol. Patients restrict consumption of fat and sugar. Patients prize vital, social and moral values more than before the surgery. Patients estimate theirs life situation more profitable than before a year. The results showed also statistical relationship between the changes of life style and health condition patients after by-pass surgery (BMI, blood preasure and the results of biochemical indexes).
