Abstract:

The study presents issues related to passing reliable medico-forensic opinions in pecuniary claims owing to bacterial nosocomial infections. Further the study discusses the role of the expert in the field of medical microbiology in working out such opinions. As the backgrounds material the study makes use of 38 medico-forensic opinions prepared in the Chair of Microbiology, 10 medico-forensic opinions prepared in the Chair of Forensic Medicine in Cracow and 15 medico-forensic opinions prepared in the Chair of Forensic Medicine of the Pomeranian Medical Academy in Stettin.
