Abstract:

Aims: a/ to determine the frequency of autoimmune gestational diabetes b/ to analyze the comparison between the chosen clinical, immunological and biochemical parameters in the autoimmune GDM group , the group who displays no presence of these antibodies and the group without GDM c/ to characterize autoimmune GDM patients Material and methods: 246 pregnant women were tested for the presence of GADA, IA-2A, ICA. The characteristics included such data as: age, BMI before pregnancy, weight gain during pregnancy, blood pressure, as well as biochemical parameters such as: glycemia during OGTT, HbA1c percentage, C peptide concentration and lipids concentration Results: The frequency of autoantibodies was found in 18,6% GDM patients. GDM Ab+ patients in comparison to the GDM Ab- patients and to the group without GDM had the highest fasting glycemia, the highest gycemia in 2h OGTT, and the lowest HDL-cholesterol and TG concentration. Conclusions: The frequency of autoimmune gestational diabetes is 18,6%. The risk groups are especially patients in GDM G/B groups, who are lean before pregnancy, have quite small weight gain during pregnancy and who do not have any physiological lipids increase connected with pregnancy and who have quite a low HDL concentration.
