Moreover, changes in secondary prevention in the postdischarge period during last decade were assessed. The study population consisted of consecutive patients ≤70 years hospitalized due to myocardial infarction, unstable angina, percutaneous coronary intervention or qualified to the by-pass operation in cardiac departments of university and general hospitals in Cracow. In the first phase of study 540 patients were included. Out of them, 427 patients (79%) attended the control visit 6-18 months after index hospitalization. Patient treated in hospital outpatient clinics (n = 228) and by general practitioners (n = 135) were analyzed. The beneficial changes among patients with established coronary heart disease such as the increase in the use of cardioprotective drugs and substantial improvement in the frequency of achievement of recommended total cholesterol level over the decade from 1997-1998 to 2006-2007 were observed. Differences in the lipid lowering treatment and the use of cardioprotective drugs between patients treated by general practitioners and in hospital outpatient clinics found in 1997-1998, were no longer observed ten years after.}, title={Realization of recommendation for secondary prevention of coronary heart disease in hospital outpatients clinics and in general practitioners in Małopolska in 2006-2007}, type={Praca doktorska}, keywords={secondary prevention, coronary heart disease}, }
