Topoisomerase II alpha is recognized as a reliable marker of tumor proliferative activity. It is the object of action of many known and applied oncologic medical agents. Cyclooxygenase-2 expression in pituitary tumors confirmed the correlation between its expression and the density of micro-vascularization studied with other methods. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs have a strong inhibiting effect on the expression of COX-2. The study included 60 patients of the Department of Endocrinology after pituitary tumor surgery at the Department of Neurosurgery.
