Expression of TLR4 on monocytes increases during ischemic stroke and correlates with poor functional outcome. Studies aimed to investigate the relationship between selected markers of immune response mediated by TLR4 and outcome after stroke. It was shown that higher level of proteins modulating the interaction between LPS and TLR4 (LBP and sCD14) is associated with higher mortality after stroke. Results suggest that decreased release of IP-10, TNFa, IL-1b and IL-12, and increased release of IL-10 and IL-8 after whole blood stimulation with LPS are related to poor stroke outcome. In addition, multimarker score based on IL-12, IL-10 and TNFa levels after LPS stimulation and plasma IL-6 level improves the prognostic value of the clinical model for predicting stroke outcome.}, title={Association between Toll-like receptor 4-mediated inflammatory response and outcome after ischemic stroke}, type={Praca doktorska}, keywords={ischemic stroke, outcome, inflammation, endotoxin, cytokines}, }
