Material and methods The study was performed using MRI 1.5T system and covered 100 patients with brain tumors. Patients underwent histopathological analysis. Two groups of tumors were distinguished (benign/malignant). Spectra were taken from the tumor centre, its border and contralateral cerebral tissue. Results Comparing patients with the control group and considering the character of the change showed statistically significant differences for chosen concentrations and ratios of metabolites. The best discriminators were chosen as well as classification functions and models were worked out for estimating the probability of determining character of the change. Comparing models (external and internal) statistically considerable differences were received only for the mI concentration. Conclusions The analysis of the 1HMRS results indicates the significance of chosen parameters in diversifying patients with the control group and in diversifying character of the tumor (benign/malignant). Indicated discriminators, worked out classification functions and models for estimating the probability determining character of the change can be useful in the analysis of new cases. As referential values it is possible to use results interchangeably for the external and int}, abstract={ernal standards.}, title={The assessment of analysis methods of 1H MRS spectra in the diagnostics of brain tumors}, type={Praca doktorska}, keywords={MR spectroscopy, brain tumor}, }
