The study included 17 patients with ACO, 17 patients with COPD and 33 patients with severe asthma who underwent spirometry, bodyplethysmography, bronchoscopy with EBUS, bronchoalveolar lavage and endobronchial biopsies. Images were chosen from the movie recorded during bronchoscopy with EBUS based on which the total thickness of the bronchial wall and its particular layers were assessed. Histopathological evaluation of endobronchial biopsies and cytological analysis of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid were performed. Patients with ACO do not have a characteristic pattern of airway remodeling in histopathological examination of endobronchial biopsies, but have more severe changes in the airways assessed by the EBUS compared to patients with COPD, and less severe compared to patients with severe asthma. The thickness of bronchial wall and its particular layers in EBUS did not correlate with the results of histopathological examination of endobronchial biopsies in patients with ACO.}, title={Analysis of the airway remodeling in patients with asthma-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease overlap}, type={Praca doktorska}, keywords={asthma-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease overlap, bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, endobronchial biopsy, airway remodeling}, }
