The structures of the isolated compounds were established based upon chromatographic methods and ID- and 2DNMR, MS and IR analyses. The spirostanol saponin exhibited a remarkable activity in vitro against cancer cell lines melanoma B16 and sarcoma XC (ED50 < 1 μg/ml), while its cytotoxicity against human fibroblasts was significantly lower. The compound had only weak fungistatic effect on dermatophytes (Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Microsporum can is) and yeasts (Candida glabrata and Candida parapsilosis). The furostanol protoglycoside and the pregnadienolone glycoside exhibited weaker effects against melanoma B16 than the spirostanol saponin.}, title={Structure and biological activity of steroidal glycosides isolated from ramson Allium ursinum L}, type={Praca doktorska}, keywords={Allium ursinum, steroidal saponins, cytotoxicity, antimicrobial activity}, }
