The studies were carried out at the Dermatology Clinic of the Department of Dermatology, Jagiellonian University, Krakow, and involved a group of patients treated over the years 2015-2019. The results showed that women constituted a majority of patients treated for FAGA in the years 2015-2018, with hypothyroidism revealed as the most commonly diagnosed hormonal disturbance (10.6%). Even though no link between selected SNPs and androgenetic alopecia in female patients in Poland was found, family histories, especially positive maternal family history, proved to be of great significance.
