The aim of the study was to evaluate the frequency and risk factors for cardiac sarcoidosis (CS). The subject of scientific analysis were: subjective symptoms, the level of 8-hydroxy-2 'deoxyguanosine in urine (U8-OHdG), exercise tolerance, parameters of ECG, echocardiographic and cardiac magnetic resonance. The value of the performed medical procedures in the diagnosis of CS was assessed. The study group consisted of 99 patients with pulmonary sarcoidosis hospitalized in the Department of Heart and Vascular Diseases in the John Paul II Hospital in Cracow. Results and conclusions: The frequency of cardiac sarcoidosis in the study group was 13.13%. Coexistence of arrhythmias and conduction disturbances in the group of patients with CS was statistically significantly higher than in patients without CS (23.08% vs 5.81%; p = 0.035). The percentage of patients with reduced LVEF for the diagnosis of CS, (<50%) in the group of patients with CS, was statistically significantly higher than in the group of patients without CS (25% vs 1.19%; p <0.001). There was no correlation between the occurrence of CS and the analyzed demographic factors, the presence of comorbidities or the course of sarcoidosis. The level of U8-OHdG in patients diagnosed with CS was slightly higher than in patients without diagnosis of CS (75.}, abstract={32 ng/ml vs 64.99 ng/ml). However, the presented material did not confirm the value of U 8-OHdG in the diagnosis of cardiac sarcoidosis in the study group.}, title={Predisposing factors and frequency of heart involvement in sarcoidosis - contemporary diagnostic methods}, type={Praca doktorska}, keywords={cardiac sarcoidosis, diagnosis, urinary 8-hydroxy-2 'deoxyguanosine, (U8-OHdG), sensitivity}, }
