The aim of the study was to determine the effect of BP-2 on the survival of nerve cells, immune system activity, haematological parameters and testicular function. BP-2 was administered dermally (the main route of exposure to this compound in humans) to adult male Wistar rats for a period of 4 weeks. Studies have shown that BP-2 crosses the blood-brain barrier but reaches relatively low levels in the brain. In contrast to in vitro studies, in vivo studies did not show BP-2 neurotoxic activity in adult animals. The test compound increased the activity of the immune system, provoked hyperthyroidism, and disrupted sex hormone secretion and spermatogenesis. Results obtained in this study show for the first time the effect of benzophenone-2 on the central nervous system, the immune system and blood count (no change), and confirmed the adverse effect of this compound on testicular function.}, title={Some aspects of toxic effects of benzophenone derivative (BP-2)}, type={Praca doktorska}, keywords={benzophenone-2, spermatogenesis, neurotoxicity, hyperthyroidism, immunology}, }
