The main objectiveof the study was to assess the usefulness of continuous ambulatoryelectrocardiographic (Holter) monitoring in the diagnosis of patientswith severe OSA and in the assessment of CPAP therapy efficacy onthe basis of HRV analysis and the presence of heart rhythm disorders.The study included 39 severe OSA patients and 15 non-OSA patients.Compared with the control group, patients with severe OSA hadsignificantly different HRV parameters and significantly higherincidence arrhythmias. A 3-month treatment with CPAP significantlyinfluenced all HRV parameters and significantly reduced the incidenceof rhythm disturbances. Present study proved that Holter ECGmonitoring may be useful tool for screening severe OSA and for theassessment of CPAP efficacy in OSA patients.}, title={Usefulness of continuous ambulatory ECG Holter monitoring in thediagnosis and in the assessment of continuous positive airway pressuretherapy efficacy in severe sleep apnea patients}, type={Praca doktorska}, keywords={HRV, apnea, CPAP, arrhytmia}, }
