It impacts on leukocytes and tissue factor cellular expression. An effect of lipoxin on platelets was a subject of a few studies without conclusive results.Aims of the study. Verification of hypothesis on an influence of lipoxin A4 on human platelets with assessment of platelet 12-lipoxygenase functional genetic variant, as this enzyme takes part in transcellular production of endogenous lipoxins.Subjects. Healthy volunteers (37 subjects), patients with arteriosclerosis on antiplatelet therapy with aspirin and clopidogrel (18 patients). Methods. Optical aggregometry with ADP. Cone Platelet Analyzer (CPA). Flow cytometry (platelet-monocyte and platelet-neutrophil aggregates). Results. No effect of lipoxin A4 was noted in spite of 4 hours platelets-lipoxin incubation. Increased percentage of leukocyte-platelet aggregates decreased after shear forces application. Healthy volunteers differed with patients in most measured parameters. There was no influence of functional platelet 12-lipoxygenase polymorphism Gln261Arg on lipoxin A4 effects. Conclusions. There was no influence of lipoxin A4 on platelet function despite platelets activation in dynamic conditions of flow and shear stress, in both controls and arteriosclerosis patients.}, title={The influence of lipoxin A4 on human platelet function in dynamic in vitro tests}, type={Praca doktorska}, keywords={lipoxin, shear stress, CPA, platelets, Cone Platelet Analyzer}, }
