Evaluation concerns relations within marital dyad and includes husband’s and wife’s perspective and assessment of their own functioning in the family. Study is comparing marital dyad depending on patients gender, and is analyzing connection between illness acceptation and patients own functioning in the family.Study has been conducted on 120 people – 60 patients (men and women, 30 with acute MI and 30 with prior MI) and 60 partners. During research author’s own questionnaire has been used and the Family Assessment Questionnaire, and Acceptance of Illness Scale.Results allows to comprehensively describe dyad of patients after myocardial infarction. Significant differences have been identified in functioning of dyad for patients before and after myocardial infarction. The general trend has been observed that patient’s partners assess marital relations worse than patients themselves. Marriages of patients after prior myocardial infarction assess these relations worse than marriages of patients with acute myocardial infarction. Differences have been identified between genders in the area of dyad assessment and own functioning in the family.
