 abstract={Introduction Since the 1970's, when the first percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) wasperformed, this method has undergone a distinct evolution. In turn the effectiveaction of locally administered drugs has contributed to the development of theconcept of a antimitotic drug-eluting balloon (DEB).AimsThe goal of this study was to analyze the long-term results of PCI with DEB incorrelation with the clinical and angiographic characteristics of the treated patientsand the treatment strategy.ResultsA total of 112 patients were included in the study. The population was thendivided into two groups, A (40%) consisted of patients with target vessel failure(TVF), B (60%) without TVF. The study group was comprised mainly of patients inthe sixth decade of life that had been qualified for the invasive treatment of unstableangina. Male patients dominated. More than half of the patients were active smokerswith a history of myocardial infarction.The differences between study groups were observed in relation to the followingfactors: differences in severity of heart failure (NYHA III and IV A 32%, B 13%,p=0.0479), previous PCI (A 19.4%, B 4.3%, p=0.0423), treated lesion length (A19.4 mm, B 16.1 mm, p=0.0166), predilatation with standard balloon (A 60%, B33%, p=0.0119), residual stenosis (A 20%, B 17%, p=0.0341).Regression model showed independent risk factors affecting the prognosis:severity},
