@misc{Lelek_Agnieszka_The_2012, author={Lelek, Agnieszka}, address={Kraków}, howpublished={online}, year={2012}, school={Wydział Lekarski}, language={pol}, abstract={The aim of the thesis was to investigate the relation of the functioning of personality and body image among people that grew up in families with alcohol problems, as well as the psychological connection between childhood trauma and psychosocial functioning and body experiencing later in life.The research was conducted on a group of 95 women that were undergoing ambulatory treatment and who grew up in families with addiction problem. The following tools were applied in the study: Polish version of Multidimensional Personality Questionnaire MMPI-2 by Tadeusz Kucharski, Body Self Questionnaire (J-C scale) by Beata Mirucka and the author’s personal survey.The results of the investigation show a great diversity with regards to psychopathology. There were three subgroups of similar personality profiles spotted in the analysed population: well adapted, anxiety-depression and personality disorders. These groups vary with respect to the intensification of personality disorders within the adjustment level, characteristic traits and behaviours, reactions to stress and interpersonal relationships. It was also proved that a group of female ACOAs has an unsettled body image with respect to exposing femininity, accepting the body image and experiencing intimacy.
