The study is part of National Monitoring of the State of Oral Health and Conditions, conducted since 2008.The objective is to assess the dentition, periodontium, occlusal conditions, treatment needs and socio-epidemiological environment of 6-, 15- and 18-year olds in Małopolska. The study group comprised a total of 442 persons: 119 6-year olds, 112 15-year olds and 211 18-year olds. They were coming from rural area, small town and city. The parents of the 6-year olds, 15- and 18-year olds, filled out questionnaires regarding hygiene, dietary habits and sociological conditions.A high rate of caries was noted: 91% of 6-year olds, 100% of 15-year olds and 99% of 18-year olds. The DMF index (in the case of 6-year olds dmf + DMF) was 6.81 for the youngest, 10.16 among 15-year olds, and 8.99 among 18-year olds. In all age groups it was largely formed by the D component (d + D). Treatment indicator (Fl) in all age groups was low (in the following order: 0.08; 0.32; 0.47).Living environment had a major influence on the dmf + DMF indexand on the D value in the case of 6-year olds.A significantly higher F value in the 15-year olds was noted among girls. The Fl depended on the sex of the child and its living environment.A living environment also had a significant influence on the D, F and Fl value in the case of}, abstract={the 18-year olds.
