RO is often consequence of immunosuppressive treatment and persistent hyperarathyroidism. The aim of the followin research was the long term evaluation of bone minerał density and bone metabolism imbalances in patients after cadaver renal transplantation using the DEXA densitometric method and concentration of osteogenic and resorption markers and also comparison of obtained results with research results attained 4 years ago. Risk factors evaluation related to decreased bone mass was also performed. Research included 58 patients in mean ages 46.9 ± 12.5 years (38 males and 20 women) and control group consisted of 30 healthy volunteers. Results analysis was performed in groups divided depending on bone minerał density (BMD) and time post renal transplant to present moment. Performed research revealed that: • osteopenia and osteoporosis diagnosed in 3 measurement locations densitometric test in recipients of kidney transplant were noted also in long term observation after NTx; • increased dynamics of bone tissue metabolism in patients after long term post rena! transplant was observed when compared to the control group; • osteogenic processes had an ad}, abstract={vantage over bone resorption in the group of patients long term post renal transplantation; • no significant differences bone minerał density were noticed in evaluated group of patient after 4 years in comparison to initial results; • Solu-medrol, Azathioprine as well as Prednisone treatment was documented as having a negative influence on increment of bone mass loss assessed using 3-point densitometry. Further researches are necessary to evaluate changes of bone metabolism, bone minerał density and efficacy of introduction of anti-resorption therapy in patient long term after renal transplantation.}, title={Long term evaluation of bone metabolism in patients after renal transplantation with normal densitometry results and diagnosed osteopenia or osteoporosis}, type={Praca doktorska}, keywords={densitometry, renal osteodystrophy, osteoporosis, bone metabolism, renal transplantation}, }
