Early maladaptive schemas, understood as pervasive and detrimental life patterns consisting of memories, emotions, beliefs, and bodily sensations, were measured using an adapted version of the Young Schema Questionnaire \(YSQ\-S3\-PL\). The characteristics of committed offenses, derived from penitentiary records, were analysed using a self\-constructed questionnaire designed for extracting information from prisoner files and the Violence Scales \(Beisert, 2012\). Results\: The analyses revealed a relationship between the severity of early maladaptive schemas \(EMS\) and the intensity of sexual violence committed by the offenders. It was found that offense characteristics, such as victim selection based on age, gender, nature of the relationship with the perpetrators, recurrence of the offence, duration, and strategies such as planning and deception, differentiated the offenders in terms of EMS. Sexual offences committed by men who exhibit heightened schemas in the areas of Other\-Directedness, Overvigilance\/Inhibition were more frequently directed against individuals known to them.
