Examinations were done before total hip replacement, at one month and three months after surgery. Study group included 30 subjects aged 51\-78 years. Clinical scoring was done with Harris Hip Score\; step length was measured\; static and dynamie pedobarography were carried out. In static phase, maximum ground reaction pressure was measured. In the dynamie test, ground reaction force, pressure, foot contact area and contact time were measured with area under the force\-time and pressure\-time curves. The form . of „gaitline\", i.e. trajectory of mean ground reaction force in foot rollover process was assessed. In static test before surgery and at three months follow\-up, no asymmetry was found\; at one\-month follow\-up, operated extremity had significantly less load\-bearing. In Harris score at one month, significant improvement was found\; concomitant small improvement in step length symmetry and increased asymmetry of load\-bearing of lower extremities were found. At three months follow\-up, small improvement in Harris score vs. previous visit was found with very marked improvement of gait symmetry and increased and equalised step length. Clinical status improved inconsistently with gait parameters. Value of gaitline was observed\; i"]
