The second main goal was an attempt to isolate microvesicles \(MV\) from plasma of gastric cancer patients for closer characterization. The MV number, size, the presence of surface determinants and TAA as well as HER\-2\/neu and MAGE\-1 mRNA expression were determined. The obtained data show that the developed methodology for isolating single tumor cells present in the patients’ blood\/bone marrow is precise and sensitive. MAGE\-1, \-2 mRNA expression was determined in the isolated tumor cells. MAGE\-1, \-2 mRNA presence was also determined in tumor cells isolated from the primary tumors and metastatic lymph nodes. For the studies of MV present in patients, plasma depleted of platelet\-origin MV was obtained as a result of the developed isolation methodology. It was concluded that the patients’ plasma contain more MV than plasma of healthy individuals. The MV size distribution studies showed heterogeneous distribution of size in patients’ MV as compared to MV of healthy individuals. The cytofluorometric characterization analysis of patients’ MV showed the lack of leukocyte"]
