Search for: [Abstract = "The main aim of the work was to design and synthesize new compounds with potential anticonvulsant, analgesic in neuropathic pain, antidepressant and\/or anxiolytic activity, expanding knowledge about the structure – central activity relationship in the group of aminoalkanols and piperazine derivatives, as well as about their safety and mechanism of action. The preliminary part of the study characterizes the participation of selected molecular targets in pathomechanism and therapy of central nervous system diseases, including epilepsy, neuropathic pain, depression and anxiety. As part of own research, 70 aminoalkanols or piperazine derivatives were designed and obtained by chemical synthesis, including 30 centrally active compounds. Based on the obtained results, analysis of the structure\-activity relationship in vitro and\/or in vivo was performed. For active compounds, analysis of the potential mechanism of action was performed. Metabolic and safety studies have also been carried out for selected compounds, the results of which are estimation of the potential risk of adverse effects of the tested compounds. Selected active compounds can become a starting point in the design of further centrally active substances in the studied groups of compounds, taking into account the conclusions from this dissertation on SAR, safety, research methodology and desired molecular objectives."]
