Search for: [Abstract = "The aim of this doctoral thesis was the reconstruction of the pharmacognosy teaching in different periods in pharmacy teaching at the Jagiellonian University as well as the determination of how methodology of teaching at the Jagiellonian University influenced the development of pharmacognosy in Western Europe. The dates \(1783\-2009\) mentioned in the title of the project indicate that it is a history of pharmacognosy teaching dating back from the formation of pharmacognosy at the Jagiellonian University Department of Pharmacy and Medical Matter, till the present time. The study demonstrated that the important role of education reform of pharmaceutical studies was attributed to the evolution of pharmacognosy teaching. Pharmacy and pharmacognosy teaching was governed by legal regulations. The influence of further educational reforms on pharmacognosy teaching was analysed. The thesis provides us with the infom1ation on textbooks and teaching aids. which were used during the lectures on this subject in subsequent periods of the Department of Pharmacognosy functioning. The discussion of the history of pharmacognosy cabinet since its formation by Florian Sawiczewski until modem times, was a valuable addition to its history.
