Ferric reducing ability of plasma \(FRAP\), superoxide dismutase \(SOD\) and catalase \(CT\) activities in red blood cells and placental homogenates were determined. Antioxidant properties of studying compounds were compared to well known antioxidants\: Trolox, Resveratrol and \-Carotene. Overall results strongly suggest that\: 1\/ FRAP values in he blood samples increased more after incubation with \-Carotene than with Trolox or Resveratrol\; 2\/ \-Carotene and Trolox increased CT activity whereas Resveratrol increased SOD activity. 3\/ 4\-orto\-methoxyphenylpiperazine derivatives had antioxidant properties. 1 substituent at the phenoxyl group predisposed compounds toinfluence on CT and FRAP. 2 substituent at the same chemical group led to impact of SOD activity. 4\/ Derivatives with xanthone structure and amin\-butanol groups characterized prooxidative properties. These compounds decreased antioxidant enzymes activities."]
