Search for: [Abstract = "The aim of the study was to assess if dietary recall administered to adolescent can be used in epidemiological studies on nutrition. Subjects were one hundred, 9\-15 years old children, together with their caretakers. Based on 24\-recall, intakes of energy, protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins and mineral components were assessed. Intake of energy and most of nutrients from lunch were higher in the child recalls. We have observed that 47.3% of caretakers were notable to recall what kind of food items their children ate between main meals. The study showed that the recall with adolescents could be helpful source of data for the research on nutrition in the population aspect because it gives reliable estimates of energy and nutrient intakes. However, one should not use such kind of data for the examination of the individual nutritional habit of children. Especially, data concerning the nutrient intake from the dinner and\/or additional foods \(snacks\) could be biased."]
