The study involved a group of 109 adult patients with functioning kidney graft, at least one year post transplantation, in care of Kidney Graft Recipients’ Ambulatory, Department of Nephrology, University Hospital in Kraków. The concentrations of neutrophil gelatinase\-associated lipocalin \(NGAL\) and extracellular matrix metalloproteinase 9 \- NGAL complex \(MMP 9\-NGAL\) were assessed in urine. IL 6, procalcitonin, complement components C3, C4 and soluble receptor for complement component Clq \(sClqRl, sCD93\) were measured in serum. Among the studied laboratory markers, serum sCD93 concentration was best correlated with serum creatinine \(positively\) and eGFR \(negatively\) at the start of the study. Moreover, serum sCD93 measured at the start of the study correlated negatively with eGFR after one\-year follow\-up. Positive correlations were observed between serum sCD93, urine NGAL and initial albuminuria. Higher concentration of NGAL in urine was significantly associated with a decrease in eGFR during the follow\-up. The patients who developed bacterial urinary tract infections during the follow\-up were characterized with higher NGAL and MMP 9\-NGAL in urine and higher sCD93 concentrations in serum at the sta"]
