The prospective study was conducted in the adult patients who were resuscitated at the Edward Szczeklik Specialist Hospital in Tarnów in the period from January 2012 to December 2014. The patients were assessed on the basis of the return of spontaneous circulation and survival until discharge from the hospital considering the place where the patient was discharged. The resuscitation protocol binding at the Edward Szczeklik Hospital in Tarnów was applied in the study. The survival rate of the patients who were subject to cardiopulmonary resuscitation due to sudden cardiac arrest until discharge from the hospital was 19,8%. The patients who experienced sudden cardiac arrest in shockable rhythm survived until discharge more often than the patients who experienced cardiac arrest in non\-shockable rhythm.
