The doctoral thesis is a series of 3 original publications and a narrative review. The work consists of a prospective part and a retrospective part. The narrative review presented the current state of knowledge on circulating biomarkers of post\-infarction left ventricular remodeling. In the prospective part, the level of selected biomarkers in the acute phase of myocardial infarction \(MR\-proADM, Notch\-1, syndecan\-4, myeloperoxidase, s100 protein, ST2, interleukin\-6, lactate dehydrogenase, C\-reactive protein\) was examined. The relationship between the level of biomarkers and the remodeling of the left ventricle during the 6\-month follow\-up, assessed by echocardiography with the use of 3D imaging, was analyzed. The above analysis shows that LDH and MR\-proADM are promising markers. In the retrospective part, the role of the CHA2DS2\-VASc scale in the assessment of prognosis in patients with myocardial infarction was examined.
