Search for: [Abstract = "Subject\: Self\-health evaluation and health behaviors among mothers of adult children with disabilities.Introduction\: The birth of a child with disability is associated with impaired family functioning, including significant burden on mother which has an impact on their health.Aim\: The aim of the work is to understand the self\-health evaluation and health behaviors among mothers of adult children with disabilities.Material and methods\: The study involved 75 mothers parenting achild with disability and 66 parenting a healthy child. For data collection used standardized research and author’s questionnaire.Results\: Self\-health evaluation of mothers from the study group was significantly different in subscales\: energy, pain, emotional reactions, social alienation, movement limitations, except for sleep disorders comparing to a group of mothers nurturing healthy children. Mother nurturing children with disabilities varied significantly in a way of health behavior when comparing to mothers from comparison group \(except for health behavior associated with safety\).Conclusions\: Mothers of adult children with disabilities demonstrate worse self\-health evaluation and less positive health behaviors comparing to mothers of healthy children.Keywords\: people with disabilities, mothers, self\-health evaluation, health behaviors, social support"]
