Phytoestrogens have similar structure to main female sex hormone 17β estradiol, therefore displaying mimic effects of this hormone in organism. The aim of the dissertation was to investigate if phytoestrogens are able to influence on the functions of male reproductive system. Male Balb\/c mice were fed three kinds of special prepared animal chows that differed in content of soy, and in this way in content of phytoestrogens. The experiments comprised prenatal and prepubertal stages as well as mice adulthood. The histological changes in testes of animals fed the chow with soy showed\: disturbance of spermatogenesis, delay of germinal cell divisions, degeneration of seminal tubule epithelium, decrease in number of mature sperm cells and their lower viability. Moreover, phytoestrogens displayed effects on height of epithelial cells in caput, corpus and cauda of the epididymis. Phytoestrogens can disturb hormonal balance of male mice. The experiments revealed the increase of estradiol level in blood serum and decrease the number of estrogen receptors type β in epithelial cells of the epididymis of adult males, which were fed chow containing phytoestrogens. In addition, daidzein, one of phytoestrogens, injected intraperi"]
